Around 500 Romanian children and young people enjoyed taking part in summer projects provided by the British-based charity The Libra Foundation in 2016.
Libra worked on five projects in Bradet, Moinesti, Comanesti, Onesti Homes and Manastirea Casin, with a team of 85 British volunteers, and 70 Romanian volunteers – more Romanian teenage volunteers than ever before.
Our charity has a mission to relieve the hardship of disadvantaged young people living in Romania and a vision of a more integrated Romanian society.
Chief Executive Officer Virginia Darley said: “What stood out so profoundly this year was the involvement of the Romanian volunteers.
“With their help we were able to achieve so very much more for the children and young people. We are enormously grateful to them for their dedication and enthusiasm.”
